The design of this stand was selected by The Royal Horticultural Society for exhibition at their Chelsea Flower Show 2016. As the standard of their selection process is rigorous, the build and materials of this stand are of the highest quality.
The construction cost of the stand was £10,000.00 and is a bargain at £1,000 It comes complete with all paving, walling and fencing.
The sheep willow sculptures shown in some of the photos are not included.
The stand measures 6m x 4m and was constructed in sections so it can easily be dismantled and rebuilt for transporting from venue to venue.
The sturdy wooden frame supports the stone flags which cover the majority of floor space.
The fencing is best quality larch lap and runs along the length of the back of the stand to a height of 1.7m, the returns at either end are 1m deep in length. All the wood is painted in dark green grey. The low stone wall running along the back fence retains a space for bedding plants and is approx. 50cms deep x 40cms high.
This walling is precast concrete and takes apart in sections, it is manufactured in the U.S.A. The large solidly built planter is 1m square and is painted grey green to match the back fencing. The existing walling, fencing, flagging etc can all be removed or added to as needed.
This stand was much admired and photographed by visitors to Chelsea Flower Show 2016, and was much praised by officials of the Royal Horticultural Society.
